Recover what
matters.
Find file fragments in a disk image. Review the results.
Save them somewhere safe.
Scan a connected drive. No image required.
Use the Windows companion to select a physical HDD, SSD, USB drive or memory card from a local web dashboard. It runs PhotoRec on your computer and saves recovered files to a different disk.

How direct-drive recovery works
Extract the companion on a healthy drive. Run Start-Windows.cmd as administrator, select your official photorec_win.exe, then use the local dashboard that opens. Choose the affected drive and a destination on another physical disk. The running Windows system disk is blocked. Cloud saving uses desktop-synced folders; direct cloud uploads are not included.
The companion saves files during the scan and can recover formats supported by your installed PhotoRec, including document families. It cannot guarantee recovery or restore overwritten data. Test with an expendable USB drive first. This is a source package, not a signed installer.
Or scan an existing disk image in your browser

What can this version recover?
Signature-based carving of contiguous JPEG, PNG, PDF, BMP and WAV candidates. It scans all bytes without reading filesystem metadata, so it cannot identify which files were deleted, restore original names or folders, or rebuild fragmented files. Matching signatures do not guarantee valid files. Overwritten data cannot be recreated. Encrypted images need to be decrypted separately.
Use an uncompressed raw image, not E01, VHD/VHDX, ZIP or a normal folder. A file copied from a drive does not contain the drive's deleted sectors. Up to 10,000 candidates; incomplete candidates and those exceeding the selected size limit are excluded.

Direct cloud sign-in is not included. Choose a folder managed by your cloud desktop app, or download the recovery archive, extract it, and upload the files yourself. The website cannot confirm cloud synchronization.
